This is the home of the founder journey — from clarity, to launch preparation, to high-touch mentorship.
You may already know that you want to open a group home, assisted living home, shared Assisted Living Home, Shared Independent Living, Transitional Home, Sober Living Home, DDD or I/DD residence, behavioral health home, or another residential-care business. The dream may be clear. The order of the work may not be.
What comes first? Which business model fits you? How much money should you prepare? When should you think about property? What must be researched in your state? What documents, people, systems, and decisions may eventually be required?
BHBMC gives you a clear next step: start with a $97 personalized Founder Roadmap, build momentum in the four-week Jump Starter, or choose six months of VIP mentorship. All memberships are lifelong after the intensive class periods, so guidance is continual as you move further along your process.
Clear education. Practical founder tools. Cohort support. A visible and accessible mentor.
Many future founders have watched videos, saved posts, researched properties, and searched state websites — but still cannot see the correct sequence.
One person says register the business first. Another says find the house first. Someone else says start with policies. Before long, there is information everywhere and confidence nowhere.
"I know I can do this. I just need someone to show me the steps in the right order."
That is exactly where Sananga School of Residential Living begins.
Instead of guessing, you can understand the major stages from idea to opening.
You can slow down before spending money and ask the questions that protect your dream.
You can take the first step without pretending you already know everything.
The goal is not to rush you. The goal is to help you become the kind of founder who knows what they are building and why.
I began with a desire to care for people well. I understood the heart of the work before I understood every business step. I had to learn how the home, people, paperwork, rules, staff, files, inspections, and responsibility connected.
Over time, I learned something I now teach every founder: a good heart needs a clear plan. A beautiful home needs strong systems. A founder needs more than inspiration.
I learned through real care, real responsibility, mistakes, corrections, and questions I did not even know to ask when I began.
Today, I help future founders see the road before they waste time, money, or energy moving in the wrong order. I do not expect you to arrive knowing everything. I want you to arrive willing to learn.
I created Sananga School of Residential Living because I know what it feels like to carry a big dream and still need someone to make the next step clear.
Every Sananga School of Residential Living path is delivered in a structured cohort.
Someone else may ask the question you did not know to ask.
You need someone who can take a large process and explain it in smaller pieces — without making you feel foolish for asking a basic question.
Big ideas explained in everyday language.
Lessons shaped by the responsibility of caring for real people.
Education built around the decisions a founder must make.
No careless mixing of one state's rules with another state.
Roadmaps, checklists, workbooks, folders, and action plans.
A visible mentor who teaches, listens, and answers questions within your cohort.
Real facilities. Real binders. Real founders in the room. The photos below show the systems and experience behind the education you are about to buy.
Founders have already purchased the Sananga School of Residential Living Founder Roadmap to replace scattered research with a clearer sequence of decisions and next steps.
Sitting down with a founder team to walk through the growth and entrepreneurship plan — this is where strategy turns into next steps.
The document every licensed facility must have — built page by page, not downloaded from a template mill.
In the living room, not a boardroom. This is where the real questions about property, staffing, and readiness get answered.
Behind every license is a Quality Management system — organized, indexed, and ready for review.
This isn't theory. This is a real, operating, licensed behavioral health residential facility.
The systems that keep a facility compliant — built and organized before a single resident moves in.
Whether in person or on a screen, the teaching comes from documents I've actually built and used.
Real regulatory binders, tabbed and ready — the paperwork side of care that most founders never see coming.
A hallway of certifications and approvals — proof that the systems taught in Sananga School of Residential Living are the same ones that got licensed.
For years I worked as a caregiver while dreaming of owning a home where residents would truly feel loved and respected. Every time I researched the process, I became overwhelmed by licensing, staffing, budgeting, and regulations. Sananga School of Residential Living helped me understand that I didn't need all the answers on day one—I needed the right roadmap. Today I finally have confidence in my next steps.
I've spent my career caring for patients, but developing a licensed residential-care business was an entirely different challenge. Nkatha helped me understand the business side of healthcare—from feasibility and licensing to operations and long-term planning. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I now have a structured path toward ownership.
We wanted to invest in something that would create both lasting wealth and meaningful community impact. Before purchasing property or spending significant money, we needed clarity. Sananga School of Residential Living helped us understand the opportunity, evaluate the risks, and develop a plan before making expensive decisions. That guidance gave us confidence to move forward wisely.
See what Sananga Care Homes — our Behavioral Health Residential Facility — looked like in real life: the home, the systems, the environment, and the work behind it. Some faces shown in the images have been altered with AI to protect privacy.
Behind every license, policy, and budget spreadsheet are real people living real lives. Residential-care founders are building more than a business: they are building a place where people can belong. These images show the human side of care-home life that makes the compliance work worth doing.
Matching pajamas, silly sweaters, and a living room full of laughter — the kind of ordinary evening that makes a house feel like home.
Reindeer antlers, wrapped gifts, and shared excitement — celebrating milestones and holidays together as a family.
Burgers, onion rings, and good company. Community outings keep residents connected to everyday life outside the home.
Sunshine, fresh air, and a little bit of dancing down the sidewalk. Small daily rituals build a healthy, joyful home.
Balloons, party hats, and cake on the patio. Every resident's birthday is a reason for the whole house to celebrate.
This is the life you can build as a licensed group home owner — not just a business, but a home where people truly belong.
You do not have to buy the biggest option to prove you are serious. You need the option that matches the decision you are ready to make today.
“Mentor me while I build.”

Best for: the aspiring founder who has the vision but needs clarity before spending money or making major decisions.
You leave knowing what you're trying to build, what needs to happen next, and where to begin.

You receive the map. You remain responsible for executing it.
Best for: the founder who has moved beyond “Should I do this?” and is ready to begin organizing and taking the first real steps.
Move from thinking about opening a residential care business to becoming an organized founder taking deliberate action.
We teach you, guide you and help you understand your next steps. You perform the work.
This program does not include Pamoja Pamoja completing licensing applications, securing property, negotiating leases, communicating with regulators on your behalf, writing complete licensing packages or policy manuals, recruiting your workforce, managing contractors, obtaining approvals or project-managing your development.
Best for: the serious founder who is committed to developing a residential care business and wants high-touch strategic mentorship throughout the journey.
Build with experienced strategic guidance beside you as you move from founder vision toward licensing and launch readiness.

The mentorship period is six months. Participation is not contingent upon receiving a license within six months, and mentorship does not continue indefinitely while awaiting government approvals, construction, property acquisition or other third-party processes.

Not every residential-care opportunity requires the owner to be a nurse or clinician. Qualifications depend on the state, service model, role, and population. Sananga School of Residential Living helps you identify what must be researched and confirmed for your project.
Yes. Many important decisions should be considered before committing to a property. The right starting option depends on how certain and prepared you already are.

You will be placed in a group with other members from your state who are interested in opening a similar kind of residential facility as you are. The goal of the cluster is to keep you motivated, keep you networked, and keep you supported throughout your process.
Yes, you can. Education creates transformation. You can jump in and begin learning about your city and state requirements as you build your cash toward your residential venture.

Yes. You will leave the class knowing where all the forms for your type of business are, how to fill them out, how to organize your files and folders, and how to confidently prepare for and pass your inspection.
My hand is reserved for my future husband, sorry! But what I will do is teach you how to be confident and strong enough to walk the process yourself.
Yes, I will. And along the way we might even make it fun enough that you never forget it.
Absolutely.
That is reserved for the BHBMC VIP Program.
I am bringing all the bells and whistles, so do not expect boring. The classes will be intense but easy to learn, taught slowly and clearly so you do not panic. Be confident that you will get it, because you will.
Future Founder,
I know this is not a small dream. Opening a residential home can affect your savings, your family, your time, and the people you hope to serve.
That is why I do not want you to begin by guessing. I want you to see the journey. I want you to understand the questions. I want you to know what you are ready for and what you still need to learn.
You do not have to choose the biggest option today. You do need to choose honesty. Are you still deciding? Are you ready to begin? Have you made the decision? There is a path for each stage.
My work is to help you stop staring at one large dream and begin seeing the next clear step. I will teach you. I will tell you when something needs to be verified. I will help you organize what feels scattered. I will encourage you. I will also remind you that this is your business and your responsibility.
Choose the path that fits you today. Then let us begin there.
Warmly,
Nkatha
